SCHENECTADY — Rivers Casino & Resort will continue its gradual reopening Friday, when its Landing Hotel will begin to check in guests again.
The 165-room hotel stopped hosting guests six months ago amid an extensive shutdown of non-essential businesses statewide designed to slow the spread of COVID-19.
New York hotels were allowed to operate under certain circumstances but Rivers opted to keep The Landing closed while the casino was closed.
The casino reopened Sept. 9. Managers said they’d wait a week to let business momentum build at the gambling facility before reopening the hotel. They announced the hotel’s reopening a week later.
Managers said they would subject the hotel to the same “Sure Bet” sanitary procedures that they developed to keep the casino compliant with state-required protocols.
Additional precautionary measures at the hotel will include a limit of four people on the elevator at one time, ejection from the property of any guest with a temperature higher than 100.4 degrees, and contactless checkout options.
