Festival Pass for Thursday, March 5
Festival season is nearly here, and many are wondering how the Coronavirus might impact major events, like music festivals.
According to reports, Ultra in Miami is a no-go due to coronavirus fears. In Southern California, many events are still going on as scheduled, including CRSSD in San Diego this weekend and the LA Marathon. But there have been some postponements, including a natural products expo scheduled for Anaheim this week and the Korea Times Music Festival, which was originally scheduled for the Hollywood Bowl on April 25.
Since we’ve been hearing from readers asking about specific festivals and events, we’ve created a resource where we’re updating a calendar of happenings and information from venues with information related to COVID-19. It is very much a work in progress and will be updated as we get new information.
Are you changing your concert plans to avoid exposure to the coronavirus? We want to hear from you. Email Peter Larsen at plarsen@scng.com.

People power
LA Phil conductor Gustavo Dudamel and jazz icon Herbie Hancock’s Power To The People! festival starts today, March 5, and runs through April 11 with performances from Hancock, Patti Smith and more. Get the details.

Coronavirus information and updates
The spread of COVID-19 is a concern for concertgoers and promoters. At this point the only Southern California music festival impacted by the coronavirus is the Korea Times Music Festival, which has postponed its original show date of April 25 at the Hollywood Bowl. But as festival season continues, we will provide updates.
