Singapore Airlines is waiving all rebooking fees for tickets issued on or before March 15 with a travel period until May 31 amid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a statement, the airline announced customers could cancel their existing flight itineraries and rebook when they were certain about their travel plans.
Customers’ new flight itineraries should be completed by March 31, 2021.
The airline said all rebooking fees would be waived, though differences in new ticket fares may apply.
It will also waive all change fees for new Singapore Airlines and SilkAir tickets booked from Monday to March 31.
For inquries, customers are advised to reach the airline through an online form. Those with tickets issued directly from the airline are recommended to contact the airline’s reservation team, while those who booked tickets via travel agents are suggested to contact the agents for further information.
Anticipating a rise in customers’ reports, the airline encouraged customers to be patient as the process may take longer than usual. It also recommends contacting the airline only if their flight will leave in the next 72 hours.
On Saturday, Singapore Airlines cut more flights to China and Italy after it slashed thousands of flights to countries such as India, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia and Thailand earlier. (wir/wng)
